These terms govern your use of AllSymbols.org (the “Site”). By accessing the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

About the Site

AllSymbols is a free Unicode reference and copy-paste library. It provides catalog pages for individual symbols, category pages, and small utilities such as a Unicode converter and a symbol text generator. There are no user accounts and no paid features.

Acceptable use

You may use the Site for any lawful purpose, including personal, educational, and commercial use of the symbols themselves — Unicode characters are part of an open standard and are not owned by AllSymbols. You agree not to:

• Use automated requests in a way that places an unreasonable load on the Site or interferes with its operation.
• Scrape the Site for the purpose of republishing the catalog pages or symbol descriptions in bulk on another site.
• Attempt to access non-public parts of the Site, probe for security vulnerabilities, or reverse-engineer the Site's services.
• Use the Site to distribute malware, run phishing campaigns, or violate the rights of others.
• Frame or hot-link the Site's pages or assets in a way that misrepresents authorship or makes the Site appear to endorse a third-party product.
• Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice on the Site.

Intellectual property

The text, layout, and software that make up the Site — including original symbol descriptions and category copy — are owned by AllSymbols or its licensors and are protected by copyright. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view and use the Site for the purposes described above. You may quote short passages with attribution; full-page copying or large-scale republishing requires permission.

The Unicode characters listed in the catalog are part of the Unicode Standard, published by the Unicode Consortium, and are not owned by AllSymbols. Names, hex codes, and decimal codes for individual characters reflect the Unicode Character Database.

User-submitted content

If you send feedback, corrections, or suggestions via email, you grant AllSymbols a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that feedback to improve the Site. Do not send confidential information; correspondence may be retained according to the privacy policy.

Third-party links and services

The Site links to third-party resources, including search engines, advertising networks, and reference sources. AllSymbols does not control these third parties and is not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices. Following a third-party link means you are subject to that party's terms.

Advertising

The Site is supported by display advertising. Ad placement does not constitute endorsement of the advertised product or service. Any transaction you enter into with an advertiser is between you and that advertiser.

Disclaimer

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. AllSymbols does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site is free of viruses or other harmful components. Symbol descriptions are general-knowledge reference and are not professional advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AllSymbols and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site, even if AllSymbols has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the Site, which for most users is zero.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any other matter that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold AllSymbols harmless from any claim brought by a third party arising out of your misuse of the Site or your violation of these terms.

Changes to the Site

AllSymbols may add, change, or remove pages, categories, and features at any time. Where a change is significant — for example, removal of a tool — reasonable notice will be given on the home page or in a banner.
